Case managers may encounter patients substituting this unverified practice for prescribed CPAP therapy, complicating compliance and recovery documentation.
Health misinformation not only endangers individuals, but it also disrupts the entire medical management process. Patients who adopt unsafe or unproven methods often face setbacks that prolong recovery, increase utilization, and raise overall healthcare costs.

For case managers, the rise of online health advice has reshaped nearly every part of the job.
